Last nights hero Chris Heisey!
Chris Heisey continues to impress me each time he gets in a game. He just seems to have a great grasp for the fundamentals and an uncanny ability to come off the bench and make things happen. In case you didn’t see the game or highlights, Heisey was up in the top of the 9th with the score tied and Jim Edmonds at third base, all he did was execute one of the best suicide squeezes I have seen in quite some time. He executed it so well in fact that he ended up safe at first. Honorable mentions go to Jim Edmonds who didn’t look like a 40 year old sprinting home. The Reds don’t always make things pretty (i.e. Cordero) but they sure do have a knack for comeback wins.
Go Reds!!!
Votto out, Chapman in…But not til September
Looks like Votto was a last minute scratch tonight with back stiffness, lets hope we have him back soon with this long West Coast swing. The Cardinals also lost tonight so we have a 2.5 game lead that could could go up to 3 with a Redlegs win.
The latest on Chapman from John Fay is that the Reds will wait until Sept 1st to call up the heat throwing hurler, he will be eligible for the playoffs due to the two players the Reds have on the DL. He’s really looking sharp in his bullpen role. The Reds say they will use him next year as a starter but with the way he is throwing could he be the new long term closer? Just a thought.
